Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage Commission Photographic Record (1933-1937)

Ledger title: Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage District Photographic Record

Contents: 291 photographs of streetscapes in Eastport and Annapolis taken between October 11, 1933 and September 1937

6-page numerical index of the photographs titled "List of Pictures"

Note: The photographs, while numbered, are not arranged in numerical order in the ledger

Dimensions: (ledger) 10" long, 9" wide, 6 ½ "tall (hardback, covered in cloth, produced by Meyer & Thalheimer, Baltimore, MD)

Dimensions: (photographs) 10" long, 8" wide (glossy black and white)

Provided by: Tom Dawson on December 13, 2007 to Ginger Doyel for "Over the Bridge: A history of Eastport at Annapolis, 1868-1968"

Notes: Nearly every photograph contains a sign, placed in the foreground, which includes the exact date and location of the shot. These signs contain more details about the site's location than the brief index descriptions

All photographs contain either the phrase "Photo By Howard Hayman" or "Hayman Studio 19 Maryland Avenue Annapolis, MD." on their backs

The photographs were taken before Eastport's street names were reversed. Therefore, First Street is currently Sixth Street, Second Street is currently Fifth Street, and so forth.

This index is now available online at www.gingerdoyel.com and will be updated as more information about the Sewerage Commission and the individual photographs become available.
